Above is a photograph of the Oberlin-Wellington Rescuers who took fugitive John Price from officials tasked with returning him to a slave-owner in Kentucky. Charles H. Langston (#12, above) arranged Price’s safe passage to Canada. Only Langston and Simeon Bushnell (#9, above) went to trial for aiding a fugitive.
