We are proud to present a new CCP production: Frederick Douglass, “Why Hold a Colored Convention?” This video is based on a speech by Frederick Douglass at the 1883 national Colored Convention. This speech was performed by Hassan El-Amin, an actor in UD’s professional theatre department, Resident Ensemble Players. Read more about this speech and Frederick Douglass’s Black worlds in the recent piece by Professor Foreman, “Frederick Douglass’s Black Activism” at Black Perspectives.
